Landscaping Supervisor
This job requires a minimum of 3 to 5 years of landscape and horticulture experience. The supervisor
must have leadership and communication skills as well as excellent time management skills. The
supervisor must assign duties to the sales specialist and supervise their finished products, and is
responsible for the quality of the finished product or landscape.
The landscape supervisor is also responsible for evaluating all employees' performance. The
supervisor is also responsible for training and mentoring employees. This includes training in the
areas of plants, grasses, seeds, fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides. The supervisor is also
responsible for reviewing contracts, preparing estimates, securing the necessary tools and materials,
and answering the job site phone.
Other Job Responsibilities:
Loading truck or trailer. Driving landscape truck and trailer to job sites.
Picking up trees and plants from local nurseries. Making sure customers fill out their purchase
receipts correctly. Selling Trees or plants. Lawn maintenance. Installation of Sod and Irrigation;
complete Irrigation service and repairs. Installation of shrubs, mulch, rocks, plants & trees. Applying
Chemical Applications of Fertilizers and Weed Controls. Estimate Landscape Installations. Pruning
and Trimming of shrubs and trees. Identify the needs of a customer and provide an opportunity for
those needs to be met through the purchase of product or service.
Guide potential customers to discover their landscaping needs and then offer the best possible
products or services to ensure their needs are fulfilled. Meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
Maintaining customer relationships after the sale. Marketing products and services. Making sales
calls and contacts with potential and existing customers. Take Customer orders in person and over
the phone.Supervises all landscaping personnel; duties include planning, scheduling, organizing and
directing work, training personnel, and recommending applicants for employment or for discipline,
termination or retention. Teaches and enforces safety regulations. Monitors jobs both indoors and
outdoors to ensure quality and compliance with job standards.
Performs duties of a landscaper. Maintains records of jobs performed, departmental charge codes
and hours worked by employees.
